Beach Social Wed 14May08

Following on from the Intramural Tournament on the beach, we are going out on a beach themed social... The fancy dress theme is BEACHWEAR - I'm thinking sunglasses, board shorts, bikinis, hawaii shirts/skirts, coconut bras, hats etc. You'll all have cool personalised Ultimate Frisbee wristbands that'll be given out at the Beach (but if you can't go to the tournament just get one from me beforehand...and to make it easier I'll have all the spare ones with me on the night out) Arrive at MADISONS- 8/8:30. Wed is their busiest night cos of sports teams but it'll probably be fairly quiet to begin with. Therefore no queues for drinks- yay! Shots £1.50 Doubles £2.50 Trebles £2.99 Cocktails £2.40 Pints £2.20-£2.60 SAM JACKS - get there for 10. Our wristbands will get us a free shot for every drink - drinks are nice and cheap anyway at around £1.50. As we're having a beach themed day/night, I've arranged for there to be a surfboard instead of the bull. The wristband will get us free rides all night and there'll be a Surfing Championship where the frisbee player who stays on longest will win a bottle of bubbly (There's at least 2 bottles up for grabs). They've also now got a Nintendo Wii that we can use all night and which shows up on the big screens. Bring your own games if you want but they've got 10 to choose from so we should be alright! Oh, and I'll have a fistfull of free drinks vouchers to give out to those who compliment me the most haha! Next we'll probably be heading to CITY VAULTS (but due to surfing fun this venue might be missed out - depending on how the evening goes!) Finally, we'll go to BLU BAMBOO where we'll all get free entry with the lovely fingerprint whatnot. Bowling!

This Wed (14th Nov) we're going Bowling after practice. It's cheap and cheerful (a fiver each fro 3 whole games!) and a chance to challenge Taz who thinks he's the Fred Flintstone of the bowling world! Plan is to get there before 6pm (as its cheaper at that time) so for those who want to get changed after practice we'll meet outside the Sports Hall at 5.15 to walk to the venue in Fenham (behind Castle Leazes) OR we will be heading straight to the North Terrace pub straight after practice for a few pre-bowl bevvies. Let us know ASAP if you are gonna come along so we can have an idea of numbers. Thanks :) We garauntee it will bowl you over!

HALLOWE'EN SOCIAL!

As i'm sure you've all noticed, Hallween is quickly approaching, as is the need for another social. So next Wednesday (31st October no less) is the official.... .....Too Many Pies Terrorific Halloween Special Social...... The theme of course is scary gear, we're thinking devils, skeletons, vampires, witches, ogres, heffalumps and woozles etc Be as creative or conventional as you like. The provisional plan so far (to whet your appetites) is Bar 42 where we shall all assemble and drink suitably grusome concoctions of drinks. Then head onto Blu Bambu for AU night (meaning it will befar more packed than last thursday!) and our FREE ENTRANCE and FREE DRINKS etc. It will be fab and a major incentive is of course to see the shamed Mat Vale doing his solo 3 pint challenge so come along! After Blu Bambu we may head to Venue if we fancy a change of music a.k.a 'monster latin and spanish rhythms' and jugs of 'Bat's Blood' and red shots for £1...but who knows we'll go wherever the night takes us.... SO put it in your diaries WED 31st October. Get yourself down and get involved in the frisbee love :) We won't bite, promise! Jazz Cafe

Hey all you pies and Piettes its your social secs again! A lot of fun was had by all on sunday at the BBQ and by the looks of it Manchester beginners tournament too, so i hope you're all looking forward to your beginners tourny OR are just about to sign up for one cos they are seriously ACE! anyways....back to the matter in hand - SOCIAL THIS THURSDAY Now i'm sure you all can't have missed the legend that is the jazz man on your wanders through campus (a hairy old bloke with a bushy beard who hands out the cutest hand written flyers) and there is certainly no one else like him, and no where else like the Jazz Cafe. This, my friends, is our destination on thursday. After making the most of Pound-a-pint at the HANCOCK (from 7pm) we will head to the JAZZ CAFE for some 'swingin' jazz guitar tunes', top notch company and cheap and cheerful drinks. Then we'll head to DIGITAL where fun is always had and classic tunes are guaranteed. So see you all at 7 at the Hancock. There's no fancy dress theme this week so come as you are and we'll love you all the same :) Here are our numbers just in case you get lost, are late, or wanna meet us along the way....: A bundle of frisbee love from your social secz x x x x x x x

First Pies Social!

Greetings from your new social secs Catharine and Jess! Glad to see so many of you at the beach BBQ yesterday - much fun had by all it appeared. For any people who didn't make it to the beach to learn the first frisbee skills don't you worry, theres plenty more chances this week. As you know, Tues (5 til 7 at Exhibition Park) is the first freshers practice, where you'll learn the basics and we'll get some games going and then we're off to the Brandling for yummy pizzas and a couple of drinks. Wed is the afternoon session (2pm, same place) and then Thursday is when the real fun begins after the practice at 5..........! The first official 07/08 TOO MANY PIES SOCIAL!! Now the Pies pride themselves on their dressing up abilities so for this theme theres loads of scope so we want to see you pull out all the stops! The theme for the night is P.I.E (in honour of 'Too Many Pies') so the aim is to dress up as anything begining with P, I or E click 'read more' below for some ideas...
